CTRAC is based in the UK and is run by David Cripps. Qualifying in Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Southampton, David then spent 25 years with composite material developer and supplier Gurit (formerly SP Systems). In this company he worked on the development, testing, qualification and commercialisation of SP/Gurit's composite materials into many large structures, including racing yachts, military and commercial vessels and wind turbine blades. He has spent time living and working on both the east and west coast of the USA as well as in Quebec, Canada.
In 2012 he joined the small, start-up company Blade Dynamics, helping the company acquire and manage research contracts in the development and commercialisation of its modular composite technology for wind turbine blades.
In 2015 Blade Dynamics was acquired by GE Renewables, and later incorporated into LM Windpower, following LM's acquisition by GE. Within GE/LM David has been responsible for the project management of the development of new technologies for wind turbine blades, and their introduction into LM's blade production sites.

CTRAC can draw on additional resource if required, based on an extensive network of contacts within the composites industry. This can be used to provide back-up, additional specialist expertise or to extend CTRAC's overall capacity to provide its services.
